How do I use Back on Track products?

All Back on Track products should be implemented gradually. To start with, use the product for a maximum of 4 hours a day for the first 2 - 3 days, and then gradually increase by one hour at a time. The body then has the opportunity to familiarise itself with the fabric’s effects.

After the introductory period you should increase the usage to a minimum of 8 hours per day, preferably more. It is important to continue to use the product intensively for at least 10, preferably 20 days, before assessing its impact. Since the fabric reflects more of the body’s heat radiation as you move, the effect is greatest if you wear the product when active. Back on Track also works when resting, even during sleep.

How should I care for my Back on Track products?

Products should be kept clean for maximum effect. If the textile is dirty, it can hamper the effect.

General washing advice: Use a mild detergent without enzymes and let the product air dry. Do not tumble dry. Do not use bleach or fabric softener.

Can the minerals be washed out?

The minerals responsible for the effect are melted into the material and cannot be washed out or worn off.

What can Back on Track do for osteoarthritis?

Osteoarthritis is a painful condition and the most common of all joint diseases. Where osteoarthritis occurs - usually in the hand, hip, knee and toe joints - the cartilage begins to break down and the surrounding tissues become inflamed.

Back on Track’s braces and supports can help you maintain an active life. The FIR effect of Welltex stimulates local blood flow and can help alleviate stiffness. Exercise, in and of itself, has been shown to have decidedly beneficial effects even on joints whose cartilage is subject to degenerative processes.

Can the products be used in the hot temperatures?

Yes. We do recommend using the products in the cooler parts of the day and for shorter periods of time during the warmer summer months, however, this is your personal preference. Use your best judgement when using our products on your animals on a hot day. Using them for smaller amount of time throughout the day is better than not using them at all.

Does BOT guarantee their products?

We evaluate each situation individually and will take care of any manufacturer problems.

Can I return or exchange products?

As long as horse and dog product has not been used, you may return it for exchange. You need to contact head office, 0412 356 996, to make arrangements. You will be responsible for payment of return postage and you will need to enclose a prepaid satchel for us to send the replacement.

How long do the BOT products work?

The effectiveness of BOT products will not change since you cannot wash out the Welltex fibres infused in the threads. If you have been using our products for a long period of time and feel you don’t see the same results as you did at the beginning, simply take a break for a week and try again. While using our products the body can get used to feeling better, so you may no longer see an increased difference. After taking a break you will most likely see or feel that difference again.

Can Back on Track be used on a wet horse or dog?

It is safe to use our products on a sweaty/newly washed horse. Towel dry lightly after showering. However, the horse boots should not be used in the pasture for long time periods. If they get wet, it can lead to an effect that resembles blistering.

Can I use Back on Track during pregnancy?

We have chosen to advise against using our FIR products during pregnancy, simply due to the lack of specific studies in this area. Understandably, such studies would also never be carried out, for ethical reasons.

Our reasons for this decision are thus the greatest possible caution and safety - as proof of non-risk cannot be achieved.

Can I layer Back on Track with other brand clothes?

Our products work best when in direct contact with the skin but are also effective with a thin layer of fabric underneath.

When should I replace my Back on Track helmet?

We encourage our customers to replace their helmets after a maximum of five years - from the date when the helmet is taken out of its original packaging and put into use. When a helmet is used, it is often exposed to small impacts, UV light, moisture, temperature changes, wear and tear and other stresses, which all lead to the ageing of the constituent materials. It is this ageing process during normal use that justifies the upper limit since the process gradually and inevitably reduces the resistance and strength of the materials. Most helmet manufacturers give similar advice.

However, the rate at which materials age is strongly influenced by how the helmet is used, how it is stored and how well it is cared for. A helmet's protective performance can therefore deteriorate quickly or slowly depending on what it is exposed to. For example, if the helmet receives a hard hit, it should immediately be replaced, since the capacity of the materials to absorb and disperse the forces of an impact is then considered to be exhausted, on the spot. In the opposite case, if a helmet is never used and kept in its packaging year after year, it will still age, but the process will take considerably longer than five years.
The date of manufacture is therefore of some importance, but it is first and foremost the period of use that determines when, if all goes well, the helmet should nevertheless be discarded.

Our recommendation to replace a helmet after five years is based primarily on our helmet manufacturer's assessment of the properties of the materials and how these are affected over time by normal use. Our manufacturer has in turn consulted with the independent German testing institute TÜV (Technischer Überwachungsverein). "

Will the products shrink?

No, as long as you follow the washing instructions. Products are not to be put into a dryer.

What happens if the products are put in the dryer accidentally?

Unless you have a very hot dryer, the products should remain effective. If products are put in a really hot dryer, the ceramic fibres may melt and the material will get stiff in some areas.

If using BOT products causes increased blood circulation and swelling occurs, will it go away?

Take a break from wearing the product until the swelling goes down, then begin using it again. Wear it for only a few hours to minimize the chance of swelling again until the body gets used to the increased blood circulation from wearing the product.
